The system overview shows how our tire pressure and temperature monitoring system (TPMS) sends information wirelessly from a sensor in each tire.

The vehicle-mounted Hub receives all of the information from each sensor individually.

The Hub then connects to an Operator Interface in the cab of the vehicle. This displays real-time information to the driver.

The Hub can also connect to a smart phone, tablet or laptop. This allows for historical data viewing and system configuration via the NTMS App.

How does our TPMS work?

Tire Monitor System - System Overview
Tire Monitor System – System Overview

There are two main types of battery-powered NTMS Sensors: Internal Sensors which are fitted to the inside of the tire (1) and External Sensors which are screwed onto the tire valve (2). The internal sensors mount magnetically to the wheel, or stick to the tire wall using a patch.

Sensors transmit tire pressure and temperature data periodically and when pressure changes. In addition, using the handheld NTMS Sensor Reader (3), you can force a transmission to manually read a sensor. The NTMS Hub (4), fitted on the vehicle, collects the data from all sensors. The Hub generates Warning and Alarm signals.

System Overview: Viewing Data

The data is viewable using the NTMS Operator Interface (5) fitted in the cab. The display brightness will automatically adjust to ambient conditions. The Operator Interface produces an optional audible alarm as well as a visual alarm.

The NTMS App (7) connects to the Hub in order to configure the system. Subsequently the App can analyse and report on the historical pressure and temperature data stored in its internal memory. Also all data is time-stamped accurately so you know exactly what happened and when.

Another feature is the comprehensive NTMS Application Programming Interface (API) which can connect to third-party equipment (6). This connection is through the RS-232 interface. The API allows easy integration to Fleet Management, Tire Management or Tracking systems.
